Who are we?
Bedrijvenvereniging Zuidoost is an active network of approximately 330 entrepreneurs and organizations located in the Zuidoost business district of the city of Groningen. To be successful as an entrepreneur, you need more than just a great idea and financing. A strong network, a suitable business location, and active advocacy are also essential for thriving in your field and serving your customers effectively. And that’s where we come in.
ZO ensures a clean, well-maintained, safe, and accessible working environment through active site management. We connect you with fellow entrepreneurs through our network and related activities. We also advocate for your interests as an entrepreneur with local politics and other economic and social organizations. This allows you to focus your time on what you do best: running your business!
Board
The board consists of individuals from various areas of Zuidoost and different industries. Together, they manage the association’s daily operations. The board is supported by the association’s manager and office manager. Additionally, ZO has a dedicated contact person at the municipality of Groningen. Decision-making is partly handled by the board and partly by the members through the General Assembly (ALV). The board meets once a month, and the ALV is held once a year.
Area
We cover a connected business area: from Rabobank Griffeweg to Sontplein, from Scandinavian Havens to Driebond, Euvelgunne, Eemspoort, Europapark, and Winschoterdiep.
Member Portal
Members of ZO have access to our member portal, where they can network, do business, post on the bulletin board (such as supply and demand), share invitations for open days, register for events, and publish job vacancies.
Young Professionals Network ZO
We also have a young professionals network: Jong Zuidoost. Young professionals up to 36 years old can join. Jong Zuidoost connects young entrepreneurs and employees in the area and showcases the amazing things happening here. The district is home to many remarkable businesses offering innovative products and exceptional services. The network organizes its own events and is also invited to ZO’s main events.
